Pulling the curtains

In a world where children starve and celebrities give each other trophies, how complicit is the general public?

Do you remember in middle school, learning about Nazi Germany? The very first question we ask is, “Did the German people know?” I remember being told directly that most of them didn’t know. We believed it because that made so much more sense to us than the reality that most Germans knew SOMETHING was happening. As a kid, its unfathomable that a people could actually learn to live with the fact their nation was doing something evil.

How do you explain that to a child? That its easier to learn to live with it than it is to try and even entertain the idea of assembly against an objective evil. We do it everyday, and we almost have no choice. They’ve designed this business theme park of a country so perfectly that we’re too busy searching for the almighty dollar to even give a shit. They’ve fed us enough bullshit to convince us that a mother trying to feed her kids is the problem, not the fact that I pay a higher tax rate than a fucking corporate entity.

Learning about Palestine is harmful to the body. You physically want to run into a fucking wall, your brain cant comprehend it at first. We. Are. Paying. For. A. Genocide. With. Our. Labor. I go to work to pay my bills and eventually pay to bomb a hospital. I cant sit with it, so then you go protest. At the protest you slowly realize you’re just an extra in a theatrical play. Its all theatre, its all an act. Peaceful protests really only do so much. Look at occupy wallstreet, nothing changed and its only gotten worse. All it did was open our eyes to the worsening wealth inequality that we literally just helped them build voting Trump in.

I’ve learned too much to ignore, yet I am just one man. I’m sadly too worried about my own first world bullshit to even worry about advocating for change, as I’m sure mostly everyone is. So here we are, a pathetic, sorry, group of people so hateful and jaded that we’d rather see each other suffer instead of realizing our true purpose: To come together and give love and kindness.
